Research Aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship "Explorer of the Seas"RCCL

July 3-July 9, 2005

Royal Caribbean International and the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science have joined forces in an unprecedented collaboration to use state-of-the-art technology to study the ocean and atmosphere and to provide an exciting new venue to increase the public's awareness and understanding of our planet. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Science Foundation are also involved in this first-of-a-kind alliance.
Equipped with a high-tech atmospheric and an oceanographic laboratory, Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas, is helping scientists discover answers to some of today's most significant questions in ocean and climate research. The facilities are managed by UM’s internationally recognized Rosenstiel School.
